Later this month, The Write Group will be available for preorder. First, I want to tell you why I wrote it. After having been in several writing groups, I had some OMG experiences: Off-the-wall feedback. Simmering resentments. Weird practices. Lack of progress. Painful sessions. Dread.
I had wonderful experiences, too, and that's when I noticed when the group worked well, I finished my projects. And when the group didn't, my work suffered.
When my work suffered, I wish I could tell you I rose above all that and came out victorious. But guess what? I didn't. Because of terrible experiences, I gave up on my writing more times than I can count.
And I don't want that to happen to you.
That's why I wrote The Write Group. I put everything I've learned, and what other authors have generously shared with me, so that you can benefit.
What do I mean by 'benefit'?
I believe with the right mindset and a little planning, you can use your writing group to finish your novel, set up your author site, submit a short story, establish a good writing habit, or achieve any other writerly goal you may have. With the right writing group under your wings, you'll reach your destination. But it takes some understanding to select the best circle that matches your objectives and to make the most of that group.
